How to play Wing It!!
A guide to flying, coins, birds, powers and everything else in the game.
The basics
Wing It!! is a tap-to-fly game. Your bird falls on its own, and every tap (or press of the Space bar on a computer) gives it a flap upward. Steer through the gap between each pair of trees. Every tree you pass is one point. Touch a tree or the ground and the run is over.
The gaps get a little narrower as your score climbs, so the first 20 trees are the easy part. Short, steady taps work better than long bursts: tap when the bird drops to the height of the next gap, and let it fall when it's above it.
Coins
Coins float in the gaps and between the trees. Small coins are worth 1, and every few trees there's a big coin worth 5. Some bird powers add treasure chests and extra coins. Coins stay in your bank between runs, and you spend them in the Bird Store and the Hat Closet.
After a crash you can keep going once per run by watching a short ad. You keep your score, your coins and your place in the world. Supporters skip the ad.
Worlds
There are 21 worlds, and a new run after a crash moves you on to the next one. Each has its own sky, trees and weather: Golden Forest, Spring Meadow, Cherry Blossom, Summer Jungle, Snowy Pines, Starry Night, Desert Sunset, Misty Mountains, Tropical Beach, Volcano Peak, Candy Land, Northern Lights, Stormy Rain, Mushroom Grove, Bamboo Grove, Spooky Hollow, Cloud Kingdom, Crystal Caverns, Outer Space, Neon City, Golden Savanna.
Birds
There are 109 birds to collect, from free starters to Mythic legends. Each bird flies a little differently: some flap harder, some fall faster, and smaller birds slip through tight gaps more easily. Your best score is saved for every bird, so each one is a new challenge. See every bird, its price and its power on the Birds page.
Bird powers
Every Epic, Legendary, Exotic, Mythic, Exclusive and Daily bird has its own power, and no two birds share one. Before you take off, the game shows the power's name and what it does. Most powers recharge on a timer, and the badge in the top corner shows how long until the next one. A few work all the time, and some trigger once per run, like a phoenix rising again after a crash.
A few examples: Dragon Fire burns down the next tree and spills coins, Frostfire slows time and pays extra for every tree you pass, and Thunder Strike carries you past the next three trees.
Daily rewards
- Daily Bonus: open the game on 7 days in a row for 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 80 and then 150 coins. Every other week, day 7 also gives you a free Daily bird. Miss a day and the streak starts over.
- Daily challenges: three new goals every day, like "Score 20 in one run" or "Play 5 runs today". Each one pays coins once. Find them at the top of the Achievements screen.
- Achievements: 32 badges for things like your first run, flying past thousands of trees, owning every Rare bird, or reaching the top 10. Each badge pays coins once.
Leaderboard, weekly tournament and friends
Sign in with Google to put your best scores on the leaderboard, pick a name and a country flag, and keep your coins and birds on every device. The Week tab ranks the best runs from Monday to Sunday, and the top 3 players each week win 5,000, 2,500 or 1,000 coins. In the Friends tab you get a private friend ID to share, and you can add friends from the leaderboard or by their ID, then see how your scores compare.
Hats and seasonal events
The Hat Closet has 40 hats to buy with coins, and 20 new ones appear every two weeks. The game's theme changes every three weeks, and holidays bring their own decorations, goals and prize hats you can only win during the event.
Play anywhere
Wing It!! runs in your web browser on phones, tablets and computers, with no download. After one visit it also works offline. You can add it to your home screen: on iPhone tap Share, then Add to Home Screen; on Android tap the menu, then Add to Home screen or Install app.
Tips for a higher score
- Watch the next gap, not your bird. Line up early, then make small corrections.
- Tap lightly near the top of a gap. A big flap is the most common way to hit the upper tree.
- Try different birds. A light bird with a strong flap feels very different from a heavy one.
- Save your power for a tricky stretch if it's one you trigger, and learn its timer if it's automatic.
- Grab coins only when they're on your path. Chasing a coin into a tree costs more than it's worth.
